Every May in glittering, cacophonous Las Vegas,
the world’s best poker players pay up to $10,000 of their own money to compete in the ultimate card game . . . the World Series of Poker. POKER KINGS follows the high stakes journey of five players over 12 months. It entails passion, skill, naked ambition, occasional recklessness… and a bit of luck.
“I think my life has become warped by poker.”
- Rob Varkonyi, World Series of Poker Champion -
As they ride the tournament rollercoaster around the world,
the players attempt to weave their personal lives around their obsession whilst competing with each other, and their own frailties, in a quest to win poker’s Holy Grail and its $2.5 million first prize. Some will barely survive, the odd one may thrive, and others will crash and burn. But after a year of winning, losing, planning and hoping, one bleary-eyed character may achieve his dream.

Featuring: Phil Hellmuth, Jr., Simon Trumper, Garry Bush, Rob Varkonyi and Carlo Citrone.
